Freshman Do’s and DON’Ts

#1. Don’t wear your ID card and lanyard all over campus. This is a public service announcement, repeat DO NOT WEAR YOU ID CAR AND LANYARD. Thank you

#2. Don’t raise your hand in the middle of class to ask the professor: Can I go to the bathroom?

#3. Don’t be fearful to use your phones, laptops, or even eat in class. You’re in college and most don’t care.

#4. Don’t expect to have a lunch scheduled (You have to make time for yourself, come on! you deserve it! Unless you have a quiz or test the next day then no one can help you.)

#5. Don’t wait for the supply list or the schedule in the mail. Like that letter to Hogwarts your eleven year old self was waiting for, it won’t ever come!

#6. Don’t be afraid to skip class. If you feel like the reason is important enough, you can. But you do so at your own risk, so don’t make it a habit. Some professors have strict attendance policies.

#8. Don’t spread yourself to thin. While it’s nice to want to be involved, expand your social life and even get a job simultaneously, you should know your limits! This way you won’t end up tearing your hair out over stress. UNLESS you’ve got clones or card board cutouts laying around be careful not to overextend yourself.

#9. Don’t be afraid to step out of your comfort zone. Embrace the change! If you try new things it may open up doors to great opportunities and a chance to meet interesting people!
