Five Ways to Cure Cabin Fever

Are you tired of being stuck inside because of all the insane snow? Do you feel yourself going crazy because you are cooped up in your dorm all day? I have some temporary solutions to alleviate your cabin fever, at least, until the snow melts.

Catch up on some sleep.

Sleep is always a good thing, and since you have some extra time not being spent outside, you might as well catch up on some sleep that you missed while you were having fun outside (I remember when the sun was a thing).

Take plenty of naps with big comfy blankets. You might also want to stock up on hot chocolate because it seems like a good, wintry pre-nap and/or post-nap beverage.

Continue an old hobby or find a new one.

Do you have a 1,000 piece puzzle that’s only half assembled or a scarf that’s only half knit? Finish it.

Did you pick up a needlework kit that you’ve never gotten around to doing? Take it out and try it.

Since you’re stuck inside anyway, you might as well get something done, and it might as well be fun.

If you don’t have a hobby or if you’ve already made too many macramé owls this winter, now is a great time to pickup a new hobby.

Play a game.

There are so many different types of games for you to play.

If you don’t have a Playstation or an Xbox you can still play games on your computer.

Kongregate.com is a great website for free games.

If videogames aren’t your thing, you could play card games or board games.

Apples to Apples is always fun, and so is solitaire if you don’t have someone to play with you.

There are a lot of different fun board games as well, including Candy Land, Chutes and Ladders, Battleship, and Monopoly.

Just kidding. There is nothing fun about Monopoly.

Get caught up on cleaning.

When you spend all day inside, your room is bound to get messy. Take some time to clean up.

Not only will it kill some time, but also it will make you feel happier since you no longer have to live in the squalor of Empty Dorito Bag Mountain.

You can also redecorate your room to keep things interesting. Google “feng shui” to find out how to position your ife-size Darth Vader cardboard cutout to compliment your aura.

Avoid everything else and go on the internet.

When all else fails, you can do what everyone else is probably doing: go on the internet.

That’s what I’ve been doing. It’s only taken me five hours to write this because I was also reblogging pictures from Frozen.
