Kicked By A Hand is the ‘Featured Artist of the Week’ for week of June 1. Beginning as a solo project for RJ Ramanauskas, Kicked By A Hand has evolved into a multi-person project that takes ska and classic punk, merges them together, and creates a Chicago flavor of the genre.
Ramanauskas joined Peter Kreten to share how they came up with the name ‘Kicked By A Hand’ from an usual high school experience, how they learned to play guitar by listening to Blink-182 and Green Day CDs, and the need to put yourself out there if you want to start your own local band.
The new music will flow like milk and honey, with new to the show French Inhaler. If you love The Cure, Joy Division, and Daft Punk, French Inhaler will jump onto your playlist. Also, singer songwriter Jake Racina brings a Wilco vibe to the program. Finally Manasseh brings R&Beyond to your speakers.
*Programming Note* 773 Sounds will air at 9amCST on Tuesday, June 2. The Windy City Thunderbolts take on the Florence Y’Alls in ‘773 Sounds’ normal timeslot. First pitch is at 5:52pmCST. Pregame begins at 5:42pmCST. Tune in and listen to great Frontier League action. 773 Sounds will return to its normal time on Tuesday June 9 and June 16.
773 Sounds is WXAV’s local music show that airs every Tuesday at 6pmCST and is re-played every Saturday at 10amCST.
