As the new semester begins, opportunities and events for self-care and compassion have been announced.
On Jan. 28, a DIY Self-Care Bag event took place in Pacelli Hall’s Lounge. Students were able to create self care bags and talk to one another about the ways they show themselves love. Free self-care materials were provided.
Another event that took place on Jan. 28 was Note to Self, an event where students can write a self reflection to themselves as a reminder to show compassion for themselves and others.
On Jan. 29, three events took place: Positivity Jars, Need a Pick Me Up?, and Compassion Comes in Clutch. Positivity Jars and Need a Pick Me Up? were created for students to fill jars and write different compassionate notes for themselves, and others. All materials for the jars were included.
Compassion Comes in Clutch gave Pacelli Residents the opportunity to help other students who are in need of basic necessities. Items including; soups, canned vegetables, boxed meals, protein (canned/jared), toiletries, feminine products and more were accepted for donation.
For every donation, students received a small candy item of their choice as well as a raffle ticket to win a free large candy of their choice from the SXU Diner.
