Over Spring Break, the SXU men’s golf team started the spring season with two tournaments in Arizona.
The Cougars took seventh out of eight teams at the Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University Spring Invite and then followed that performance by taking first out of three teams at Moon Valley Country Club.
Junior James Kerr shot 75 in both rounds at the Cougar’s first invite and then 74 at the team’s second tournament.
Coach Mike Mandakas was pleased with his team’s effort, saying, “Our team worked very hard during the offseason on strength & conditioning, mechanics, balance and flexibility to finally get an opportunity to get back on the golf course in Arizona last week.”
SXU will continue their spring season on April 3 at the Olivet Nazarene University (Ill.) Spring Invite.
