What to Know About Grad Fest

This year’s graduation festivities will kick off with Grad Fest, which is being held on March 17, in the Shannon Center from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m.

Posted on a MySXU Portal announcement on Jan. 28, graduates can “Stop by to pick up your regalia, take a formal graduation photo and begin the countdown to Commencement 2022.”

Erin Meuller, the Associate Vice President (AVP) of University Advancement, stated that “Attendees will receive a graduation gift from the SXU National Alumni Board and will have the opportunity to have their resume reviewed by the Center for SUCCESS” at the event.

As noted by the sxu.edu page, graduates must bring their student ID or a government issued ID in order to “secure their regalia and tickets.”

Meuller also stated that “Given the changing landscape of the COVID-19 pandemic, Grad Fest will be held with the health and safety of students, faculty, staff and guests in mind. We continue to monitor local, state and federal rules and guidelines and will communicate any updates, should they arise, as quickly as possible.”

Grad Fest is only the beginning of University hosted graduation festivities. Meuller stated that “Other commencement events will take place at the school/department level as well as the Commencement Liturgy on Friday, May 6 at 4:30 p.m.”
