Restaurant Review: M. Henry

Looking for a cute and cozy place to eat at for brunch? m. henry, located in Andersonville, is a great place to go with friends or family for a delectable brunch. The café also serves breakfast, lunch, and they have a bakery near the entrance where you can purchase an array of tasty treats. My friend and I have never been here before so we decided to give it a try. Here is my experience at m. henry.

Location, location, location. The café is placed in the perfect spot because there is so much to do/see in the area. There are plenty of shops surrounding the restaurant that you can visit while you are in the neighborhood. The restaurant is located in a great part of town but if you are not paying attention, you may almost pass it up like I did. The exterior of the café is just as welcoming as the inside of the café. The décor inside reminded me of a rustic country kitchen. The walls were covered with soft, pastel colors and some walls even had exposed brick which I think always adds an interesting touch. There were many colorful glass pitchers placed on hutch shelves and even a few distressed roosters were perched on top of the hutches. In the main dining room that we were seated in, there were window panes hanging in some parts of the restaurant that were used as partitions and I thought that was very unique.

Service at m. henry was fantastic. When we arrived, we only had to wait about 15 minutes to be seated but it really did not feel like it took that long. The staff was extremely nice and they were very helpful. My friend was contemplating what to order and the waiter was helpful when she asked him about a few brunch items. Our waiter continually checked on us to make sure we had everything that we needed as well.

Now on to the best part, the food. The menu features an assortment of things to choose from including omelets, quiches, pancakes, French toast and more. They also have seasonal dishes that are featured on a chalkboard that just so happened to be over my shoulder. I am a huge fan of French toast so of course, that is what I ordered. You had the option of either baguette or brioche toast and I opted for the brioche toast. The French toast was topped with powdered sugar and seasonal berries which happened to be blueberries, strawberries, and raspberries. My friend ordered the smoked salmon rotolone, which is smoked atlantic salmon, avocado, chive neufchatel, red onion and sweet pea sprouts rolled in a thin chive omelet and topped with a sun-dried tomato hollandaise. This dish was served with a mixed greens salad and she also ordered a side of pancakes, which was topped with fruit and had cream on the side. My friend and I both agreed that this fruit was probably the freshest fruit we have ever had. The restaurant uses natural, organic and locally produced products which is why everything is so fresh. The portions were perfect and I was completely satisfied with my choice. Prices are also reasonable and whatever you order it will surely be worth it. The restaurant also offers BYOB so you are able to bring a beverage of your choosing, which I noticed a few people had done while we were there.

Overall, I would highly recommend coming to m. henry. The atmosphere is great, the staff is friendly, and the food is exceptional. If you are ever in the Andersonville area, this is a place that you will definitely want to make a stop at.
