45 Minute Indoor Duathlon

What is it?
The Indoor Duathlon is a 45-minute race that takes place in the Shannon Center on the indoor track. It consists of a 15-minute run/walk on the track, then 15 minutes on a stationary bike, followed by another 15-minute run/walk. The goal is to try to complete as many laps on the track or miles on the bike as you can in the given time frame.
Rules:
- Please mail or turn in the registration form at the Shannon Center.
- There will be no race day registration!
- Time slots and bike preferences will be based upon registration (First come, first serve).
- Participants will be notified of their time slot by phone and e-mail.
- All participants will receive a short sleeve t-shirt and goody bag on race day.
- The Duathlon will take place on the Shannon Center indoor track. The track is 1/8 of a mile. Eight laps on the track = 1 mile.
- Four stationary bikes (recumbent and upright) will be located on the second floor of the Shannon Center.
- Laps will be counted by a volunteer with the final lap being rounded to the nearest half lap.
- Two types of stationary bikes will be available: recumbent and upright. Please mark your preference on the registration form.
- Participants can set the resistance and seat level to their preference.
- Training on the stationary bikes in the Shannon Center prior to the Duathlon is recommended.
Awards:
Medals will be given to the overall top three males and females of the Duathlon who complete the most combined distance on the track and the bike.
