After a long and brisk winter, people are eager to ditch the coats and snow for tank tops and outdoor music festivals.

Every year, these traveling festivals seem to build up and become more popular amongst the crowd.

This year, big concerts like Lollapalooza, Coachella, and ACL are shortly approaching. See which concert would best fit your style.

Lollapalooza is an annual music festival that takes place right here in our own city, Chicago.

This festival cultivates a plethora of “hipster” individuals who are free spirited, and looking forward to all genres of music.

This 3-day event is filled with performing arts, crafts, and opportunities like non-profit organizations that are there for a bigger purpose. This festival began in 1991, by Jane’s Addiction lead singer, Perry Farrell.

Due to popular demand, Lollapalooza has been on the rise for 15 years. The festival attracts over 50,000 viewers each summer in Grant Park downtown Chicago.

Each year the lineup becomes more diverse and continues to showcase underground talent. Last summer, artists like Outkast, Kings of Leon, Lorde, Nas, and Typhoon hit the stage along with many others.

This year, the wait continues as eager music lovers anticipate the revealing of the 2015 Lollapalooza line up being held July 31 through August 2. Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival, is held at the Empire Polo Club in Indio, California annually.

This festival gives you an escape to a whimsical place of peace and music for two weekends.

Paul Tollett founded this live event in 1999 and showcases a surplus of genres, from indie and rock, to hip-hop. Artists like Amy Winehouse, Jay-Z, Daft Punk, Madonna, and even Tupac (in holographic form) have performed on the Coachella stage.

The ambiance of Coachella is like no other.

Camping is an option for the festival-goers, and many set up teepee style embracing the nomadic days and embodying the free spirited ways of the 70s.

Not only is this a music festival, but due to high levels of creativity, installation art and sculptures are apart of the festival grounds, acting as an outside museum.

Last year celebrities like Vanessa Hudgens, Kendall & Kylie Jenner, and the Olsen twins were spotted hanging in the desert.

Coachella 2015 headliners include: AC/DC, Jack White, and Drake, with other artists hitting the stage like Azealia Banks, FKA Twigs, David Guetta, and over a dozen more! The big kick off weekend begins April 10-12, and week two begins April 17-19.

For a newer approach, the Bonnaroo Music Festival is a 4-day event that takes place annually at Great Stage Park, Manchester Tennessee.

This art festival came about in 2002 from inspiration from other outdoor centenaries as mentioned earlier. Sounds from gospel, reggae, bluegrass, hip-hop and more hit the stage to please the crowd.

Greats like Elton John, Kanye West, Beastie Boys, and Radiohead have all rocked out on the Bonnarroo main stage in the past.

This year, the 2015 Bonnaroo line-up includes Mumford & Sons, Kendrick Lamar, Childish Gambino, Tycho, and SZA along with many others. Live music, camping grounds, and hundreds of artists will be coming to a city near you.

The summer is filled with limitless opportunities to get out and enjoy life with friends and family. Pick a festival, pack your bags, and let loose. Which festival will you visit this year?
